The Western Digital PC SN740 512GB is a high-performance PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD designed for modern laptops, desktops and compatible compact systems. It uses a PCIe Gen4 x4 interface with NVMe 1.4b and delivers sequential read speeds of up to 5,000 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 4,000 MB/s. The 512GB version uses a compact M.2 2280 single-sided design, making it suitable for systems supporting the standard 80 mm M.2 form factor. Western Digital specifies 3D NAND and an in-house controller/firmware architecture for the SN740 family.
